MoonLite Truss Connector System allows for traditional, as well as non-traditional truss tube designs. Compound angles are easily handled by using our ball and socket style connectors. We also offer captive style fixed angle connectors. Both styles of connectors are designed to be mixed and matched together in many different configurations to suit your truss dob design. The connectors provide quick and repeatable set up holding collimation spot on. The truss connectors ball inserts are designed to fit into our 1" and 1 1/4" black anodized poles. A popular configuration for large scopes, is to use four 1" double ball and sockets (machined from light weight Delrin) on the top cage and 8 of the new aluminum captive connectors on the bottom rocker box. This provides a very rigid system that is easy to take apart and set up with repeatable collimation results. The example photos below show many different customer designs. As you can see, the ball and socket connectors make an extremely rigid and light weight implementation solving the need for calculating compound angles. The ball and socket connectors provide up to a 17 degree angle, that is plenty for even the fastest scope designs.
