The connector blocks mounted to the upper and lower cage are machined from Delrin using
a ball-nose mill end bit. They can be surface or edge mounted. Both ends of the truss tubes
are plugged with Delrin and have a S/S bolt running through the center. A S/S nylon nut
secures the bolt and a phenolic ball is threaded to the bolt with Loc Tite. Offset knobs
keeps the balls in place. The plugs
are fastened to the tubes with small S/S bolts. The plugs can be lathed to any diameter. The beauty of this system is that two angles can be easily achieved. |
